Naruto Chapter 438: Breaking the Seal

Summary: Pain is impressed by Naruto-as-six-tailed-fox's power and lures him away from the village. (Read 438 here)

Ah, not dead.

Kyuubi!Naruto is crazy! I'm not sure what happened, but did he crush his own exoskeleton? He definitely crushed the pendant (oh no! There goes his fortune...I mean, his protection). Does this mean he'll Kyuubify more easily, or does this mean that it's harder to bring him down when he does? (I think it's the former).

Regardless, I'd like to see more of Kyuubi -- visually I'm a fan of muzzly, snarly, cat-eyed Kyuubi!Naruto, not shadow!Naruto with round eye holes.

The only thing that I'd harp on is the fact that a nameless Hyuuga is being used to narrate. I don't know, seems lazy. But on the plus side: Sai!

Noooooo! Not Mt. Hokage!!! D:

Wasn't that the villagers evacuation site, too? Oh man.

Damn, if six tailed Kyuubi can do that much damage how in the hell did Konoha manage to survive in good condition the first two times? If this is the power of a tailed beast (incomplete at that) can you imagine the power this "ultimate weapon" will have? They're building the freaking Death Star!

Wonder what kind of reaction Sasuke's going to have when he comes to "destroy" Konoha only to find a hole in the ground where it once stood. Heh.

I've never thought that the pendant would be destroyed. That necklace was with him since pre-timeskip... Now Naruto has pretty much no choice but to learn how to "tame" the Kyuubi.

Agreed.

I really hope Kyuubi!Naruto will shrug off Pain's attack. Maybe that will show him just what he's dealing with.

Oh, and Hinata's alive. With how things have been going I'm honestly surprised.

The Hokage monument is fine, the shot went astray 'cause he got hit with a rock. Granted, it's a monument that's going to be overlooking a lake by next year. ... That may not be a bad view.

I'm gonna have to draw that.

Anonymous Hyuuga is narrating because he's the only one present who can see the battle clearly--the named Hyuugas all have other roles at this point.

Ha ha Gamakichi! I'm with you there.

(Sorry about posting twice...)

I guess I'd be less annoyed if the unnamed Hyuuga was named. That way, he's a character and not just a convenient tool. Give the guy some respect!

Seriously? Thank god! I thought it was gone since some of Pain's clothes where blasted off (somehow) and glasses girl (Shi- something or other) said now there isn't much of Konoha left. I've always wanted Mt. Hokage to come out of this battle unscathed so I was hoping I got that part wrong~

My husband just read the chapter and brought up and interesting point: Naruto still has a shadow clone on Frog Mountain.

He thinks the only person who can stop Naruto now is, well, Naruto. Somebody just has to summon it, and bing-bang-bamf! Sage chakra suppressing the fur-ball.

That is an interesting thought. However, I think that shadow clones need the original to sustain them, so I think it's very likely that when real!Naruto is no longer conscious (aka, kyuubified), the clone disappeared.

At this point, Yamato is coming to try to subdue Kyuubi (and probably only capable of doing so to a small extent) and I doubt Sakura or Hinata will be able to get close enough to calm him down. Most likely, the Akasuki had some sort of contingency plan to capture the Kyuubi in the event they don't get it in Naruto-form. Perhaps this is where Madara or (gasp) Sasuke comes in with their Kyuubi-controlling powers?

I take it from the lack of update (either you're very busy this weekend) or you're just speechless at the contents of chapter 439?
