Naruto Chapter 437: Confession
Summary: Survivors move to find Nagato while Team Gai heads towards Konoha. Hinata confesses her love to Naruto and is hit by Pain while she attempts to protect him. Naruto unleashes six tails. (Read 437 here)

Holy cow ridiculousness and emotional roller coaster ride. My internal dialogue went something like this:
Hinata's been watching the whole time? Can she lip read?
What? You guys still haven't started looking for Nagato yet?
Gah! Shikamaru, you're killing me. Your injury is so lame! Why are you being so complacent at a time like this! Ask the slugs and medics around to fix you! They're right. There.

*Guffaw* It took Neji's uber-eyes to spot that ginormous frog?
Erm...the wounds aren't deep? So...you've demobilized Naruto with inch-wide acupunture needles? With no blood?
Why do I imagine Ma!Frog with a raspy Jewish!Mother voice? (no offense to Jewish mothers...I've just been watching The Big Bang Theory lately)

Oh, here comes the confession...blah, blah, predictable..."I just want to walk with you..." That is the sweetest line in Naruto-history. Awww.

Really, Naruto, really? Her unverified death set you off? That's all it took. Pretty girl you never thought much about confesses and that sets you off? What, Hinata's just a convenient device then? Grrr...
Whoa. BLEACH much? When has pure chakra ever become solid? Is this allowed? Did Kishi break his own rules?
I'm exhausted after reading that. It won't surprise me either way if Hinata is dead or alive - though she's actually more useful dead, sadly, (and this was the only chapter I've ever liked her in too) - that way, Naruto doesn't need to deal (in a relationshippy way) with the fact that someone has confessed their love to him and can move on with the plot.

I think its probably good that Naruto doesn't know isn't dead, otherwise 6-tail there might try to kill her.
The bastard-fox is a construct of chakra made flesh and bone, so it makes sense that he would start reforming his body bit by bit the more chakra he pushes out of the seal.
Somebody over on DevArt, asked 'who's gonna stop the fox?' And my brain immediately went; 'Hinata is going to stop the fox! She isn't dead. She'll make him come to his senses with the power of love!'
My Hinata does look awesome in this issue, I'm gonna do some coloring and make a desktop.
Omg. WHOA. What a chapter.
I think Naruto freaked so much because she was more than likely the first person who ever told him 'I love you'. He's never had the parents or other family members to tell him that, so basically it emotionally bitch-slapped him into using the Demon Fox.
Plus to be fair to him his important people are near enough wiped out. First Jiraiya, then Kakashi (who kinda must be dead, no Chakra in the Narutoverse if your a Ninja, well, your buggered) and now Hinata, someone who actually admitted that she loved him and died for him.
I'm guessing Hinata's dead, what with the whole dramatic noise thing that came after Pein plunged one of his sticks into her. Soooo Naruto's gone psycho.
If she IS alive however... wellll... looks like it's more NaruHina time or Neji-going-psycho when he arrives... all in all... I REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER.
PLUS I think that hardly-seen picture is Hinata's blood... and the side of Hinata's head. Since we can't see her full dead self she may not be dead. Either that or it's so disgusting Kishi doesn't want to show it to us. Somethin like that.
I can't wait for this to come up in the Anime. The emotional crap that will come with it will just be AWESOME.
THIS CHAPTER CONFUSED THE HELL OUT OF ME.
On the one hand, I was like "F*** yeah, Hinata! Gogogogo girl!" (Even if I'm more of a NaruSaku shipper, that was an awesome moment).
And then I was like "... WTF KISHI SHE DIDN'T EVEN GET ONE HIT IN."
Ah well, angsty death scene coming up, y/n? And I'm just waiting for Itachi's dead spirit to show up and 'tame the fox' or whatever, heh, because I really kind of want to know just what kind of 'power' or 'gift' or whatever he gave to Naruto...
yeeah, the logic kind of fails in this chapter, but that's okay, there's emotion...?
Also, where is Sakura? o_0
My reactions to this chapter pretty much went like:
Hinata grew a backbone? Impressive. Most impressive.
To Hinata's love confession:

Okay, now getting more serious.
Nagato's parents killed by Konoha nin? I honestly didn't see that coming. He was quite civil to the Sannin.
I'm fairly sure that Hinata's dead. I mean she confessed her love to Naruto, which pretty much is a death sentence in Shonen manga. Look what happened to Cross Marian for crying out loud!
That bone armor looks pretty snazzy. Can't wait to see what new abilities this form has.

Hooray, Hinata grew a backbone! Which Pein promptly snapped, shattered, ground into dust, spliced, and julienned. Um, go Hinata? (And Pein? If she had enough time to go "EEK", or make any sound whatsoever, UR DOIN IT RONG as a supervillain. This is Hinata. Her kid sister can kick her ass.) Don't get me wrong, I've had a soft spot for Hinata since like, forever. I'm all "Go, you socially inept shut in, go! Confess to the OTHER socially inept person who can teach you how NOT to be a shut in! You can be disliked together!" So I really, really hope she isn't dead. (But if its down between her and Kakashi, then Hinata needs to bite the dust. She isn't nearly as funny. Besides, if she goes, Neji will kick serious ass in vengeance. Always a silver lining.) But OW, she's been smited for her twoo wuv. Which is very, very sweet and all, but I think that love needs to be added to the List of Things That Are Guaranteed to Cause Death or at Least Intense Mental and Physical Suffering in Narutoverse, which also includes friendship and twentieth birthdays.
Poor Hinata. Either way, she's doomed.
In other news, Snowy, you're not alone in imagining Ma Frog with that gravelly kind of voice. I kinda imagine it like Valerie from the Princess Bride. ("Humperdinck! Humperdinck! Humperdiiiinck!") Actually, Miracle Max would be a big help for Hinata right about now, although I don't think anything's gonna put Humpty together again.
Was I the only one that thought that the Six Tailed version of the fox looks like one of those bleached ox skulls in ugly Southwestern art? All it really needs is a dreamcatcher hanging off it somewhere.
Oh, and Team Gai? Thanks ever so much for FINALLY SHOWING UP to join the plot.
I knew when I read it that a million re-colors and traces of the Hinata panels were going to show up on Deviant Art (never mind those things are against the rules), and I was right. They're everywhere!
Dammit, it's only Monday... Why can't it be Thursday or Friday morning. I wanna know what happens next! DX

I hadn't realized the fox was flesh and bones. For some reason I thought it was just pure chakra...at least in the anime the fox seemed to glow.
Oh, I'd really like to see ghost!Hinata pull an Obi-Wan and calm Kyuubi!Naruto back down. I'll also settle for live!Hinata or Sakura.

I think you're right. Hinata probably is the only one that's voiced the word 'love' to Naruto. It wasn't an assumed or understood acceptance, it was clear and out in the open. Straw that broke that camel's back.

This entire chapter read as though it were right of Evangelion, right down to the "people can never understand each other parts".
Not to mention that I've always seen Naruto having a similar reaction to Shinji Ikari if someone ever told him "I love you".
