Naruto Chapter 426: Naruto and Konoha
Summary: Naruto is determined to find a way to use Sage mode without needing to be still. Ebisu and Konohamaru confront Pain. (Read 426 here)

Oh! Or allies from other countries will show up and save the day! Tsunade couldn't have possibly only called on Naruto for help. Could she? Darn, she was a bit distracted...
I will say, I found the presentation of the progression of Naruto's acceptance to be a nice treat - finally we get to see the baby steps it took and the village's sacrific now doesn't seem so unbelievable.
Not surprised AT ALL that Konohamaru didn't run. Nibbles got to it first (see comments) but I also thought about the Sexy no Jutsu! I don't expect Konohamaru to actually face Pain, but I do think he'll do something to distract him long enough for someone else to step in and give everyone a chance to escape.

And... WTF. Konohamaru versus a Pein?!?! He'll get annihilated!!
I'm sick of Kishi clogging up page after page with all this emotional stuff about Naruto being 'the one'. I wish he'd just get ON with it and tell the story rather than procrastinating (and paraphrasing) so much. It's like he's scared of our reaction or something.
Though I doubt it, if he's just killed off one of the best characters and given him a REALLY LAME death scene.... jeesh.
If this all leads up to Naruto going completely schizo when he comes back to Konoha to find it destroyed then OKAY. If it doesn't and starts another round of emotional stuff... I give up.
Since when was Naruto so depressing?
All right Konoha! I never knew you guys where so awesome! Now that I have a whole new respect for you, please don't get blown to bits.
I love how we got the villagers perspective on Naruto's accomplishments. The steady progression from "that fox" to "the kyuubi kid" to Uzumaki Naruto and finally just Naruto was incredibly satisfying. The panel with Sasuke and Naruto with the text "I hope he doesn't take it too hard" was pretty surprising.
Heh heh, I can't wait to see Naruto's loophole towards his little problem.

WOW... This chapter was extremely WEAK!
Nothing happened. Pain is still destroying the village and naruto is still training. We need to pick up the story some how, because I'm tired of being in the same place. I guess KISHI has got writers block, because it's starting to feel like he's stalling or procrastinating. This weeks chapter was 17 pages worth of "filler material".
How the chapter needs improvement:
1. Less flash backs- The flash backs felt really cheesy to me. It's the same material but from the prospective of ebisu and maybe other ninjas. I would have welcomed the flash backs if I knew that ebisu he was REALLY going to die, but most likely he's not, so it was a pointless gesture.
2. More Naruto Training- I hate to admit it, but watching Naruto train is more interesting than whats going on in konoha. I'm just trying to figure out how he's going to go into his sage mode while moving, because from what I learned you need to stop all movement of your body, so I far as I'm concerned it's a physical impossibility! But... this is Naruto, so you know that he's going to pull something out of his ass that will surprise everyone.
3. Kakashi's Fate: I think it's safe to say that more people are concerned about Kakashi then the village. It would have been nice to have an update on him. Personally, I refuse to believe he is dead until I see a funeral or Tsnuade says he is. Right now, he is probably just in Limbo.
4. Explanation of Naruku Pain: It would have been nice if there was an explanation of his power. Even though we got to see it, I still don't understand it. Kishi wasted a lot of pages showing off his power when we don't even have the tiniset clue of what it means. I'm not asking for an in-depth analysis, but it would have been nice to get a LITTLE insight on his ability.
5. Konohamaru Fight?!: They shouldn't even show this! What is kishi thinking putting a genin up against a s-class ninja?! This kid will be destroyed before the fight even starts!!! I will commend his courage, but bravery doesn't win a fight, Skill does! No offense, but Konohamaru isn't ready to fight in this battle. If this kid was to win, then I would have to question everything about kishi and his logic!
You know what would be really really funny?
Pein getting stunned with a Sexy no Jutsu long enough for Ebisu and Konohamaru to get away.

If all the Peins share awareness, would all of them get a nosebleed?
Nibbles, that would be so very, very awesome. That would be made of awesome, with a slice of awesome, and awesome sauce on the side. Better if they all passed out due to massive hemhorraging, and Konohamaru (and sorta Naruto by default) saved them all.
Meanwhile- Konohamaru, what part of RUN AWAY do you have trouble with? I mean, compared to other semi-main characters who are gasping their final breaths at this figurative minute, I don't really care what happens to him, but it's just one more thing that will slow up the plot. Kishimoto still needs to work on that (unless he's killing off other characters so that he CAN advance plot-y things.). Seriously, it's called Naruto, and, weirdly enough, that's pretty much the character I want to see. So get on with it.
We know that Naruto will be able to gather the natural energy by using his clone jutsu eventually, instead of fusing with Fukasaku. Konohamaru will also get through like Naruto did in the episode Kakashi vs Zabuza where an a-rank ninja was fooled by a chunin. Sizune has gathered enough information about Peins power to enable them to attack the source and make him retreat. Tsunade has to make an appearance fighting Pein to make the manga release interesting.
427: I think we've hit the turning point. Seems to be Kishi's pattern--down, down, Down, DOWN, glimmer of hope, up a little...
...I think I'm going to have to give up on Kakashi...
