Naruto Chapter 359: Those Eyes...
Summary: Deidara is reminded of the first time he met Itachi and was defeated with the Sharingan while fighting with Sasuke. Indignant, Deidara prepares to attack Sasuke with the C4 explosive.

Quick note: As expected, there was a good turn out of Naruto cosplayers at AX this year. Didn't look like the guy that came as a very convincing Obito last year reprised his role, but there was a disproportion of Akatsuki, probably due to all the awesome Akatsuki action this past year. Oh, and there was a Suigetsu. I love Suigetsu!
*ahem* Ok, so we got some Deidara insight after all! And he's got Itachi-issues too. Dang it, Itachi! quit screwing with everyone. Dei is definitely going to let his latent feelings of inferiority push him to act rashly. Like eating clay. I'd throw up too if I ate clay.
I take back my comment about Kishimoto making Deidara's art pieces ugly. After some reflection, Deidara's art probably isn't that great. He just thinks it is. He's high on his own ideals of art (I found it amusing that the other Akatsuki called out how Deidara talks a lot) and anything that shakes it is unbearable to his pride. Still, I can't help but be a little sad that Deidara could have avoided this whole Akatsuki mess if the big boss didn't want to recruit him. And it makes me wonder what did the boss really see in Deidara; was it just that he could animate explosives? Or is there more?
(Deidara please don't die.)

'Those eyes' indeed. So we see now that the true motivation that Deidara has for gunning for Sasuke is to get revenge for losing to Itachi. I guess he's using this as warm up for the bigger version.
Now well get to see if Sasuke's creepy wing will grow back next time. And what's with the snakes that come out of his body? Is that something he could do before he ate Orochimaru or after?
Oh Deidara and his art. He's so happy with it, but it makes me question his sanity. He's like some mad scientist:
'Behold, aren't you impressed?' Um... Dei-kun it's an ugly spider...
Oh Sasuke better watch out. Deidara's pulling out the big guns with the up-chuck attack!
(I don't think he can die until he gets reunited with his long lost sister, Ino.)

You didn't think that it would *really* be that easy, did you, Oh Dread Pirate? If he beats him instead of Kakashi doing it (*grumbles resentfully to self*) then it at least should be *hard*.
Still, there's the whole "I-KEEL-Itachi-Because-He-Hates-My-Explosive-Finger-Painting" bit that just makes you go "Huh? Itachi hates *everything*. Itachi hates sunshine, and kittens, and happiness. In fact, Itachi hates emotion of any kind- except hate. Which is only love that's missed its way. Just ignore him and keep making explosive urns." But the big phrase that had me a bit lost was Itachi's "If I beat you, then you join the Superfriends as a flunkie" bit. You want Deidara because he's lost a bet? Maybe he had to do Itachi's laundry for a month upon joining or something. Way to be a total buzz kill, Itachi.
Don't knock the explosive flying chicken, Snowy. It's the only flying chicken ever. :-D
My friend and I have decided that Sasuke is not allowed to kill Deidara. In fact, we have outlined the ending of Naruto. See, at some point in this battle, Temari and Kankurou are going to pop up out of nowhere and kill Deidara and go 'SNAP TAKE THAT BITCH FOR HURTING OUR LITTLE BRO'. Then everyone will come and dance on his body. Suigetsu and co will come back dragging Itachi, Sasuke will snap out of his O_o phase long enough to kill him. Then he will dance on Itachi's body. And everyone destroys Akatsuki, through ... various means. And Sakura punches AL onto one of Deidara's explosives and he goes BANG FLAME FLAME BURN.
And then Sasuke proclaims his undying love for Naruto, Kiba for Hinata, Juugo for Karin, Sai for Sakura, and Suigetsu the awesome can be left all on his lonesome. NO, wait, he can become Kisame's ... partner/friend/fuckbuddy. Yes. They will leave Kisame alive for this purpose only.
... and that is the ending of naruto. ^_^

And yeah, I've been stalking this little blog for awhile now. Not to be a creeper or anything. ^_^
Hi Candelabra! Thanks for de-lurking (I know you've commented before, but it's really nice to know you're still reading.) It really motivates WitherWings and myself to keep this going knowing that *someone* is reading. We might even make more of an effort to post earlier if we knew we had readers! We definitely started this as a forum for discussion - otherwise, WitherWings and I can just share our thoughts over the phone or email or something :)
I'm of course, ever grateful to my buddy taterbird for her consistant readership and amusing comments (love ya, taters!)
I wish there was a better way to notify people that I've responded to comments (LiveJournal is much better about notifications and threads) but blogger is much easier to place pictures. That, and I'm stubbornly loyal to Google products...Any readers out there think this blog should change platforms? Suggestions?
